Growth Works’ Right Hand Program Supports Young Men Through Mentorship and Cultural Exploration

Thanks to support from Prestwick Village Golf Club, thePathways to Potentialinitiative, part of the CMI Right Hand Program, is making a powerful impact in the lives of young men across our community. Launched in November 2024, this mentorship program focuses on building strong relationships, developing character, and fostering identity through individualized and group mentoring paired with meaningful experiential learning. Since its launch, nine young men have participated in mentorship services through the program.

Program components to date include individual and group mentoring sessions as well as experiential learning activities. The program emphasizes consistent, positive relationships, social-emotional learning, and real-world experiences that help participants grow in confidence and personal awareness.

Looking ahead, Growth Works plans to extend programming to reach an additional 10-15 clients by November 2025, bringing the total number of young people served this year to between 19 and 24. Upcoming activities include a trips to Cedar Point, a Detroit Tigers baseball game, museums, and the theatre as well as local canoeing, fitness and wellness programming, and much more.

The Right Hand Program continues to foster resilience, identity development, and personal growth. Through this holistic approach, young men are empowered to better understand who they are, where they come from, and who they can become.

Eagles for Children’s support has been essential in bringing this transformative mentorship program to life. Together, we are helping to build a stronger, more confident future generation … for the kids!
