Young Life Greater Detroit Creates a Safe Space for Students to Grow, Connect, and Explore Their Faith

Thanks to the support of Eagles for Children, Young Life Greater Detroit is creating meaningful opportunities for young people to step outside their comfort zones, build new relationships, and experience personal and spiritual growth.

For students like Marciay, a junior at Cass Technical High School, attending camp was an opportunity to experience something new and connect with people from different places. While she wasn’t sure what to expect when she arrived, camp quickly became an unforgettable experience filled with new challenges, friendships, and opportunities to grow.

“Coming to Camp, I didn’t know what to expect, but I quickly learned to expect the unexpected. Every day brought something new, and I had an amazing time meeting people from different places.”

Throughout her time at camp, Marciay was encouraged to step outside of her comfort zone while experiencing both the exciting and challenging moments that come with trying something new. The experience provided her with a safe space to express herself, connect with others, and learn more about her faith.

“Camp pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way, and I enjoyed every moment, both the good and the challenging. It was an unforgettable experience that I’ll always be grateful for. I was able to have a safe space to express myself, and it provided me the opportunity to learn more about God!”
